History
Griffinsburg Baptist Church of Culpeper County was founded, organized, & constituted by Pastor Bob Rooper and his wife Betty Lou Rooper on July 10, 1984. The Church purchased the Sanctuary building which was originally built in 1949 and the property in 1984. The original sanctuary was renovated and an Addition was added on at the same time later on within the same year in 1984.
Pastor Bob Rooper pastored faithful for 36 years from July 1984 to February 2020. Bob’s wife Betty Lou spent most of her time in God’s service working with children in the nursey and Sunday School until she went home to be with her Lord on December 5, 2007.
In February 2020 Pastor Bob Rooper’s health wouldn’t permit him to continue in the ministry.
In October 2020 the Lord sent Pastor Steven Hoffman to fill in the pulpit and in March of 2021, the church voted Pastor Steven Hoffman in as the Associate Pastor of Griffinsburg Baptist Church.
After serving 14 months as Associate Pastor, the church on May 22, 2022 voted in Pastor Steve as the Senior Pastor and Bob Rooper the Associate Pastor. Pastor Steve Hoffman is the second Pastor of Griffinsburg Baptist Church and serving currently.
